This is Norm's 12th year as Director of Music and Liturgy at SJB.  After his great success with Jubilee 2000, An Advent Carol and Prodigal he is looking forward to No Greater Love.   His debut CD, Universal Language, is available at www.normcotone.com and St. John Bosco rectory.
 
Ministry: Melissa Barber, Director
Melissa’s work in drama ministry started in New York City where she performed with the professional touring troupe, The Xavier Company.  Melissa was honored to share her faith through drama and music with this company.  

Melissa Barber has been captivating audiences for years beginning her singing career as a child and growing into a mature recording and stage artist. Audiences find Melissa at numerous venues … from cabaret clubs to live television, classical concerts to state conventions and national sporting events to theatrical productions.

Ms. Barber’s New York stage credits include An Advent Carol (Mary of Nazareth), John Henry (Polly) and numerous new musical staged readings, children’s theatre pieces, religious musicals, benefits and cabarets.  Her regional theatrical credits include roles in Evita (Eva Peron), Gail Warnings (Gail Brown) and Cosi Fan Tutte (Despina).  Melissa was a proud cast member and music director of Cleveland,
Ohio’s longest running play, “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding”.  For the entire 2 ¼ year run Melissa played the role of Celeste Romano, the wedding band singer, to high critical acclaim. Melissa also appeared in the Equity production of “Respect: A Musical Journey” at the Hanna Theatre in Cleveland. In addition to her exceptional vocal talents, Melissa has established herself as a successful director and entertainment consultant, with such clients as the Miss Ohio Television Broadcast, Impact Productions (Columbus), Park Place Entertainment (Cleveland) and The Xavier Company (New York City) and several theatre troupes.

 

Mary Kukich, Choreographer  

Mary toured as a member of the Tom and Susana Evert Dance Theatre, performing in the productions of Alma de la Tierra and Millennium.  She also appeared with the Tom Evert Dance Company in Great Lakes Theatre Festival’s The Bakkhai, performed at the Ohio Theatre in Playhouse Square.  She choreographed the Broadway Showcase production of the original musical Heidi and appeared in the premiere production and cast recording of the original musical, Mim.   Her performances include venues at the Off-Off Broadway, regional (including Cleveland Public Theatre and the now defunct Carousel Dinner Theatre) and local levels and a cabaret act in Soho, NY.  Favorite roles include: Cassie in A Chorus Line, Cherie in Bus Stop, Nancy in Oliver, Sr. Robert Ann in Nunsense and Rizzo in Grease.  Mary has a B.A. in Dance and in Psychology, has choreographed numerous productions and has a worship CD produced through Tri-Long Productions.  She has been a cantor at St. John Bosco for 11 years and has choreographed and/or appeared in all of SJB’s musical productions, including Prodigal, the show written, composed and directed by husband, George.  She sends her love to George and her wonderful sons, Alex and Anthony.
